It is a very exciting time for the state of Connecticut as it welcomes a brand new World Class Color Guard to its ranks. The talent level continues to grow in the high school circuit in Connecticut and performers have always had to travel out of state to continue color guard after high school. It is the hope of Black Lavender Winter Guard to offer those wishing to pursue color guard an opportunity to perform locally.
The color guard will be based in southern CT under the direction of Anthony Erevia, with staff including Juan Carlos Caceres, Greg Lagola, Andy Toth, Tasha Baryski, Jessica Adame and more to be announced shortly. Black Lavender will compete locally as a member of the Musical Arts Conference (MAC) as well as at WGI Regionals and World Championships.

Paula Wortel of Collins Hill High School experienced a year like no other in 2010. Her teammates created an incredibly strong support system for each other, but they all found out that when unexpected circumstances arise, they could find support in other places as well: the audience. Listen to her interview and find out what happened during their final performance.
Interviews were conducted as the performers reached the "Top of the Tunnel" after their 2010 World Championships performance. Stay tuned to WGI.org this summer as more interviews are posted each week!
